Andy England (b. 1979) is a Los Angeles-based painter and mixed media artist whose work uses the imagery of the city to give shared form to feelings we recognize but rarely stop to examine. Trained in mathematics, he came to art through hands-on mentorship rather than formal art school, developing his practice in his home studio and on long walks through Los Angeles. The move from logic to intuition was not a departure but an expansion, and the tension between the two remains present in his process.

His practice spans two registers: paintings on canvas that use the overlooked corners of urban life to surface feelings of nostalgia, longing, and stillness, and mixed media works on paper that give form to the frustration of living inside systems too large to meaningfully challenge. The emotional register shifts, but in both cases the work begins with a feeling, and the city provides the vocabulary to make it visible.

England has exhibited widely throughout Southern California and in Europe, with work held in private collections across the country. He is a member of the Los Angeles Art Association and the Arroyo Arts Collective.
